Courses for Children and Teenagers

Designed especially for the children of former Vipassana students, but open to any child who wishes to participate.

The course consists of learning the Anapana meditation technique, taught by S. N. Goenka through audio and video recordings. Anapana meditation is a way of keeping the mind calm by focusing on the breath. By simply observing the breath as it naturally flows in and out, the mind becomes calmer and more peaceful. With regular practice, meditation helps replace negative thoughts and feelings with positive ones.

During the course, each student is asked to follow the Code of Conduct in order to learn how to live well by improving and strengthening the mind, making it more stable and kind. These are the first steps of the Vipassana Meditation method that is taught to adults.

In addition to helping children calm and focus their minds, Anapana enables them to better understand themselves and how the mind works. By learning to calm and concentrate the mind, they also learn to manage their impulses and actions. This is a natural benefit of the technique. For this reason, Anapana provides children and teenagers with a practical tool for dealing with the fears, anxieties, and pressures of childhood and adolescence. The technique is so simple that it is easy for them to understand and practice. Children appreciate its scientific and universal nature.
